FUCARE was awarded a contract by BP
KHAZZAN project on blast protection solutions of HVAC systems.
Under the terms of the contract, FUCARE
will be providing more than 50 sets of blast dampers designed for central
processing facility (CPF).
The blast dampers to be provided for BP
KHAZZAN project are FUCARE RAPID BLAST DAMPERS FC-BRV-02-E with the features of
very short closing time and minimum passing through impulse, which assure its
high performance in blocking the blast waves. These blast dampers are also able
to stand high energy blast waves characterized with high peak pressure and long
duration far exceeding the OGP blast protection criteria so as to provide extra
safety margin for the HVAC system.
FUCARE is one of the world’s leading
suppliers on air safety solutions with particular focus on high-performance
blast protection solutions.

About BP KHAZZAN Project
In 2013, Oman and BP signed a gas-sales
agreement and an amended production-sharing agreement for the development of
the Khazzan filed in Block 61, with the British oil giant as the operator.
The total investment for the full-field
development of Khazzan will be around US$16bn, including investment made to
date in the appraisal of the resources and the early well-test programme.
The full-field development will involve
a drilling programme of around 300 wells over 15 years to deliver plateau
production of 1bn ft3 (28.3mn m3) of gas per day and 25,000 barrels per day of
gas condensate. This volume is equivalent to around a third of Oman’s total
daily domestic gas supply and will make a significant contribution to ensuring
continuing stable supplies from domestic sources.
