On July 31st of 2017, FUCARE was awarded a contract on blast protection solution for BASF MIRA project, EPC by WorleyParsons, a new plastic additives plant at its Shanghai site. This world-scale plant, with an annual capacity of 42,000 tons, will produce antioxidants and associated forms and blends.
Different from other
HVAC systems for regular industry and defense applications, the chemical production
process at BASF MIRA has been assumed to be very sensitive to quality of air flow
control inside buildings. The widely accepted tolerance range for damper’s air-flow-rate
performance by ±15%, cannot be accepted by MIRA project and the tolerance has
to be positive due to the lessons that BASF experts have learned from the
troubles of previous chemical projects.
FUCARE’s
FC-RBV-11 high performance blast valve is one of the very few products in the
world that offers not only the superior protection against blast waves but also
the air-flow-rate with a positive tolerance at specified pressure drop. This has been a critical factor which could assure
the success of this project.
