FUCARE Blast Doors Upgraded with IP65 Rated Heavy-Duty Hinges

2020/01/20

FUCARE launched its new generation of heavy-duty hinges for blast doors, probably the first IP65 rated enhanced by self-aligning bearing in the world. This new generation heavy-duty hinges, once integrated to blast doors, would offer users significant advantage on the best mix of easy operation, great durability and free-maintenance for long-term.

Bearing enhanced hinges have been in the market for decades but almost all of them are not weather-proof due to the difficulty in sealing the dynamic parts with low movement resistance. This means the rain, dust, corrosive condition could undermine the lifetime of bearing systems. FUCARE invented a new sealing mechanism and transfer the hinges to an IP65 rated with great protection to against water and dust. The recommended maintenance period for new hinge is 10 years which is related to life time of bearing grease.

From now on, all FUCARE blast doors under new orders will be shipped with new generation hinges.

[ About IP Rating ]
The IP Code, or Ingress Protection code, IEC standard 60529, sometimes interpreted as International Protection marking, classifies and rates the degree of protection provided by mechanical casings and electrical enclosures against intrusion, dust, accidental contact, and water. It is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The equivalent European standard is EN 60529.
The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as waterproof.
First digit: Solid particle protection
The first digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects.
IP6X means the highest protection level.
Second digit: Liquid ingress protection
The second digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against harmful ingress of water. The ratings for water ingress are not cumulative beyond IPX6. A device that is compliant with IPX7, covering immersion in water, need not be compliant with IPX5 or IPX6, covering exposure to water jets. A device that meets both tests is indicated by listing both tests separated by a slash, e.g. IPX5/IPX7.

IPX5 means water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm (0.25 in)) against enclosure from any direction shall have no penetration while the enclosure is under negative pressure of 2000Pa.
